About China

Huge, dizzying, and fiercely alien, China can hardly be compared to any other place on the planet. Home to nearly one-fifth of the human race, this country dazzles, surprises, disappoints and excites in a variety of ways. Its main visitor attractions are famous worldwide – think the Great Wall of China, the Forbidden City and the Terracotta Warriors – but it is the sheer scale and murderous energy of the place that makes the most lasting impression.

What To Do in China?

The sights of China span vast areas of land across the map, and its sights, sounds, and endless oddities are collectively one of the world’s truly wonderful travel experiences. Chinese food is great, getting to know different and strange local cuisines can be extremely enjoyable.

Even the ego-driven rulers of the past, from Qin Shi Huang to Mao, will surely be surprised at how influential their country has become. However, move from the urban sprawl to the rural areas of China and you are faced with a very different reality.

China is filled with endless quirks and contradictions, but that’s half the charm.
