About Bulgaria

Bulgaria’s gorgeous mountains, golden beaches and vibrant cities have begun to attract avid tourists over the past few years. As a result, beautiful ski and beach resorts are rapidly expanding. The main cities shrugged off their tired Communist-era image and became lively and attractive, keeping visitors entertained with an array of cultural attractions, diverse shopping and vibrant nightlife. In turn, many towns and villages have preserved the authentic Bulgarian spirit and hospitality – the country is particularly proud of its rich folklore traditions.

Things to do at Bulgaria

Hikers will encounter a variety of mountain ranges that cover most of the country, with an abundance of outstanding wildlife to see along the way. The hiking trails are very well mapped and take hikers through forests, past lakes and waterfalls to spot bears, wolves, and lynxes. Caving and canoeing enthusiasts will also find plenty to keep them entertained, as skiing and snowshoeing are also popular here.

Of course, the biggest visitor attraction to Bulgaria is its remarkably pristine beaches that run along the Black Sea coast. Less visited, less developed and with plenty of watersports facilities, Bulgaria’s sandy beaches are almost equal to all of the most popular coastal destinations in the Mediterranean. Moreover, you will find many old seaside towns full of cobblestone streets and historic buildings.
